There was up to $150 difference in the flight cost between leaving from Vancouver or Seattle.

I booked a standard Flex which gave me carry-on and two free bags.

YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, In July of 2023, I did my first Alaska cruise tour with Princess cruises. If you haven’t done one of these before, it is a bit different than just going on a cruise. I was looking at options for flights coming home from this cruise, knowing it was disembarking in Vancouver. Domestic flights tend to be less expensive than international flights, and this was no exception. There was up to $150 difference in the flight cost between leaving from Vancouver or Seattle. So I wondered if there wasn’t an alternative. I had heard that there was a Princess bookable shuttle to Seattle from the cruise port, but I couldn’t find it in the excursions or on the Princess site. So I looked outside of the cruise line for options and found Quick Shuttle (https://quickcoach.com/) that offered just what I needed. I booked the trip and it met at Bay 11 down where all the busses met on the cruise level of the port. They also have options for leaving from other places around Vancouver if you are staying after the cruise, so check out their website to see if they have a departure location near your hotel. The bus wasn’t there yet, but the porter dropped my bags off for me and there were some chairs to wait for the bus. Several others also joined me as the ship let people off. The bus arrived right on time, and I showed the driver my ticket. He took my bags and I boarded the bus. It was a large tour style bus, with power at the seat and these little tray tables for your items and snacks. We drove to the border crossing and waited our turn in line to pass into the parking lot where they hold traffic that is with a bus like this. The cars go in their own lines and don’t go inside this building that we were shown into. We stayed on the bus waiting our turn, and then they had our driver pull the bus right next to the border crossing station building. Everyone had to get off the bus and take all of their things, and collect their luggage at the curb. We all then headed into the building where they had ropes up for the line (as well as restrooms and vending machines and some areas to sit. We met a Customs officer and showed our passports, declared any food we had with us (they didn’t allow certain items, mostly fresh fruit or plants), and then took our bags over to the large machine so they could be x-rayed. Then it was time to get back on our bus, which had pulled over to the other side of the building. They reloaded our bags and we all boarded again, and it was off to the stops listed on the route map. I got off in Seattle airport with plenty of time for my evening flight. This cost me just $57 and change so the savings was not bad. If you are on a longer flight across country or something, it is probably a more significant price difference, so you may want to explore this as an option if you don’t mind time on a bus.
