Cruise vs Land Holiday - Why you're burning your money on the mainland!

Be honest: when was the last time you really added up your vacation costs? Most people see the price of a cruise and think “too expensive.” Then they book a hotel in Miami for $500 a day—and wonder why everything ended up being more expensive anyway. I was a crew member. And I’ve seen this happen a thousand times: people miscalculate their vacation costs because they only see the hotel price – not the total package. Do the math: 1️⃣ Food: In Miami, you’ll easily spend $100–150 per person per day for a normal breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Full board is included on the ship. You can eat 24/7, from midnight snacks to multi-course dinners. 2️⃣ Entertainment: A live show or theater evening ashore often costs $80 per ticket – sometimes more. On the ship, you get shows, live bands, and entertainment included every evening. 3️⃣ Hotel + transportation: At a hotel, you pay $400 for a bed that doesn’t move. On a cruise, prices can drop to around $60 per day – and your “hotel” is also your transportation. You wake up in new ports without having to pack your suitcase, rent a car, or deal with the stress of checking in. Sometimes even with a balcony and sea view. 4️⃣ Nightlife: In the city, you pay admission, expensive drinks, and an Uber back. On the ship, the party is two decks away – with no return costs. A cruise not only saves you money. It saves you the most valuable currency: your nerves.
