Exploring Trieste and Embarkation

We enjoyed our stay in Trieste. You can see most of the sights in two days but it appears to be a good spot for touring the north end of the Adriatic. Slovenia is only a short distance away and is in Schengen so no worries about visas and passports. The Cruise Terminal is almost opposite the main square, the Piazza dell'Unita d'Italia, so is easily found. Embarkation was unbelievably smooth. You took your cases to a tent alongside the Terminal, then walked into the building itself. Passport and other controls were very efficiently done and we boarded with no drama at all. This was our first experience of Queen Victoria but we quickly fell in love with her. Interestingly (to me at least!) was while she was definitely a Cunard ship she felt like a cruise ship and not the same as Queen Mary 2.
