About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
Content We travelled up from Brixham to Southampton, the gateway to our long-anticipated but short voyage aboard the Queen Anne, a four day tryout. The journey to the Holiday Inn was smooth and we made good time. Arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by scaffolding and it was obvious that some extensive remodelling was taking place. The hotelβs prime location, overlooking the port and next to Gate 8 was ideal both for a Cunard Cruise but also ideal for a Celebrity Cruise as well. After checking in, we took a moment to unwind in our comfortable room and do a bit of exploration . The Holiday Innβs amenities offered a chance to relax, with a welcoming bar and restaurant where we indulged in a leisurely dinner with friends. The next morning, embarkation day had arrived, bringing with it a renewed wave of excitement. After a hearty included breakfast at the hotel, we gathered our luggage and made our way to the cruise terminal, just a short distance away. The sight of the Queen Anne, through the rain, in all her glory was breathtaking and we couldn't wait to get on board. Port staff efficiently guided passengers through the check-in process, and embarkation was very smooth with not too much of a delay; we were very quickly on the ship. Stepping aboard the Queen Anne was a moment to remember with the crew members, dressed in their iconic uniforms and and exuding warmth as they greeted us with smiles, setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable cruise. We met up with friends and did an initial exploration grabbing a bite for lunch in the Artisan's Foodhall, which was very good. We then made our way to the room to unpack and settle in. It was then time to explore further prior to the evening meal. That evening we managed to book 'Noir' in the Bright Lights Society a novel, amusing and immersive show that included audience participation; Steve got fully into his role. Our adventure aboard the Queen Anne has truly begun, let's see if it is something we will dream about.
