Creator's Key Takeaways
Icy Straight Point was one of those stops that you don't get to go to on every Alaska cruise.
The service on this ship has been so good. Stellar. Stellar.
I have never been so disrespected as a human being as I have been on this itinerary.
We're all having a great time, but I am very cold.

It's our first time to Icy Strait Point and Hoonah. We started the day looking out at the beautiful peaceful water from our stateroom balcony while enjoying a breakfast tray from room service. Then we made our way off the ship, where we discovered we were docked at the Wilderness Landing dock. We took the free transporter gondola to the Ocean Landing where the historic cannery museum, shops, and restaurants are located. While we were over there enjoying the beautiful view, we got to see several humpback whales! After meandering through the shops, we got a crabby bloody mary and watched for more humpback whales. They were everywhere! Eventually, we decided to take the shuttle bus to Hoonah. There is a walking path, but we all wanted to conserve our energy; we were all feeling kind of tired. Hoonah had a brand new just finished totem pole on display, and we were able to get up close to look at it before they mounted it later in the month. Then we visited a sweet little gift shop in town, where we found some Hoonah sweatshirts before taking the shuttle bus back to Ocean Landing. We walked through the shops there one more time and then took the free transporter gondola back to the Wilderness landing and boarded the ship. We had lunch at Alfredo's pizza and then got in the hot tub to warm up and relax. Dinner was in the Michelangelo dining room again. Before we left port, we thought we saw a sea lion from our stateroom balcony, but we aren't completely sure what it was. It was a beautiful day!
