We are on a 31 Day Transpacific Repositioning cruise on the Carnival Luminosa. And one of our ports of call is Juneau, Alaska. We've been to this port before and gone to the Mendenhall Vistor's Center and walked around Mendenhall Lake & to Nugget Falls (see video link below), but today we are doing a Helicopter Tour & Walkabout. We booked this excursion through the cruise ship but you can do it independently if you have the time in port. We had a condensed day so we thought it was best to take the ship's excursion. We were lucky to have a clear day without rain, or strong winds. In this video we will show you the company we went with (Northstar Trekking), the gear they provided, the helicopter flightseeing over Mendenhall Glacier, the landing on the glacier and the walkabout with their guides. And then we conclude with the flightseeing back to the basecamp. We have provided timestamps below should you want to jump to specific sections of the video.
