Orlando Day 2 & 3 | Universal Studios & Cabana Bay During The Hurricane 2024

Hi everyone, This week's video is a little different and I have put the two days together during #hurricanemilton as it seemed right to be in one video. On day two we got up early and headed to #universalstudiosorlando as we thought more would be open and more indoors so we could hide from the rain. It was very rainy as the day started but it reminded us of Manchester weather at the start! We had our breakfast at San Francisco Bakery before heading into Diagon Alley. It was basically a walk on for Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts and we requested front row and ended up with the whole ride vehicle to ourselves which was amazing. After the ride we had a walk around Diagon Alley and treated ourselves to a butterbeer each while taking in the land. We then rode Men in Black Alien Attack which is always so much fun and then went to The Simpsons area of the park and had a Flaming Moe's at Moe's to get some shelter! This was a fun themed drink and I'm glad we finally tried it! From there we went to see the new Dreamworks Land before having a ride on the ET Adventure! Such a feel good ride! We then decided it was time for lunch and had our first ever meal at the Minion Cafe! We loved the food and theming in here, it was so much better than we both were expecting! We finished the parks section of the day with a ride on Transformers and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and as the wind started to pick up we decided it was time to leave with a couple of sweet treats for the room. We used some of this time to catch up on sleep and try and help our jet lag and a lot of checking the news to track the weather. We headed into the Bayliner Diner for tea and had the pizza which is our favourite! We had a few drinks in the Swizzle Lounge and saw the storms picking up before the hurricane from the covered section at the back of Cabana Bay. We met a lovely friend called Barbara and had some drinks and laughs with her. The next day we had some breakfast and put together a new plan for the remaining days of the holiday. As a first we also went to Jack Lalanne Physical Fitness Studio, it helped blow away some of the cobwebs! The hurricane had passed at this point and the weather was starting to improve so we started to feel hopeful we may leave the hotel in the evening. We walked over to Sapphire Falls but forgot our Id's, there was a limited menu and a 30 minute wait so we took it as a sign it wasn't meant to be this time! We ended up having our evening meal at Galaxy Bowl, i didn't expect to enjoy this quite as much as we did! The food was excellent especially my burger and the drinks were great too! really glad we ate here. We then went over to another hotel, this time Aventura. We had a drink at Barventura and brought cards to entertain ourselves with some great music from the DJ playing! It was another great change of scenery. We were going to try Strong Water Tavern again but it was just too busy still so we called it a night ready for a full day at EPCOT tomorrow.
