Join us on today's vlog where we combine some very different experiences, shopping at the Puerto de Frutos, cruising the serene Tigre Delta, and exploring San Isidro giving us a well-rounded insight into the Tigre region. Each activity provides a glimpse into the area's diverse attractions, from lively and bustling markets, to the tranquil natural waterways and the historical grandeur of the San Isidro cathedral. Together, they create a rich tapestry of experiences that highlight the cultural, natural, and architectural wonders of this charming part of Argentina. Visiting the Puerto de Frutos in Tigre, Argentina, is like stepping into a vibrant world of culture and commerce. Nestled along the riverbanks, this lively market offers an eclectic mix of artisanal crafts, home décor, and fresh produce. An avenue of shops display colourful wares from intricately woven baskets, handmade jewellery and unique furniture pieces, some far too big to take home. Local restaurants offer some culinary delights. The market, makes a delightful stroll and is the perfect spot to find unique souvenirs. Boarding our river cruise we wander along the Tigre Delta which presents a stark contrast to the bustling market, offering a serene escape into nature and an insight into the river's leisure activities. We embark on a tranquil journey through the intricate network of waterways that define the delta. The lush greenery, interesting buildings and charming riverside homes, some on stilts, create a picturesque backdrop. As the boat meanders through the calm waters, the rich diversity of the region becomes apparent, The cruise provides a peaceful respite, allowing us to appreciate the natural beauty and calm rhythm of life in this unique ecosystem. Continuing the adventure, we visit San Isidro on our return route wandering around the renovated plaza, artisan market and majestic cathedral. The cathedral adds a historical and architectural highlight to the day. Located in the heart of San Isidro, this neo-gothic cathedral is an impressive sight with its soaring spires and intricate stonework. Built in the late 19th century it stands as a testament to the area's rich cultural and religious heritage. The next day it is to time to depart Buenos Aires and make our return to the Uk flying to Heathrow via Frankfurt and Geneva. We made a bucket list of places we wanted to visit and Joanne's choice was Antarctica it is a continent that she has always wanted to see but no way was she ever going to go in a zodiac so when we found a scenic Antartica cruise we just had to go. So we booked a cruise with Celebrity Cruises adding on some hotel days at the start and end of the holiday to explore Buenos Aires. Neither of us have been to the places on this itinerary previously. This cruise now means that we have finally visited every continent. So on this adventure we explore on our own and we also take ship excursions to maximise our time and experience. We're never too old to keep exploring, so please join us.
