Top Seattle attractions to see while you are visiting for your Alaskan cruise! Full day itinerary included for best eats and experiences! We check into The Maxwell, just minutes away from the Seattle Space Needle and Seattle monorail. This hotel sits in the Queen Anne district and is conveniently located amidst restaurants and bars. We purchased tickets to the Space Needle online in advance. The tickets we purchased were good for two roundtrips in the elevator up to the top of the Space Needle during the same day only. We chose to go during the day and at night for some gorgeous scenic views miles all around. The monorail took us from the Space Needle to Westlake Mall, just a short walk to Pike Place Market. Pike Place Market is the place to go for the ultimate Seattle experience. Plan on spending most of the day to explore this historic area. Local artisans, seafood markets, restaurants, bars, vendors and bakeries fill this market. At Pike Place Market you will find Starbucks very first store ever. Not to be missed by coffee aficionados. The gum wall is located down a set of stairs from the fish market. This is not for the squeamish. Thousands of pieces of gum coat the walls and ground of this back-alley spectacle. The Great Wheel is a commanding presence on the pier, below the Pike Place Market along Eliot Bay. Tickets are for sale at the base of the wheel and provides beautiful views of the bay, mountain ranges, Mt Rainier, the Space Needle, and the city below.
