Hello Travelers, I boarded the Carnival Firenze on June 4, 2024. This is a short five day cruise, visiting Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. I’ve been to both ports, but I was really excited about this cabin! Today was the third day of our cruise, and we were tendering into Cabo San Lucas. They had us meet quite early for my 10:30am shore excursion, to make sure there was plenty of time to get on the tender and get all the way to the dock. As it was, I had a long wait for the Pirate Ship excursion I had booked. However, while I was waiting on the dock, I started feeling queasy and it was very warm outside. While I was in the shade, I felt better, but when the ship pulled up, there didn’t seem to be any covered areas where you could get out of the sun. Since I was already feeling less than 100%, I just decided to skip the shorex and wander around the port instead. I shall have to see about taking a pirate ship another time. They are in a number of ports, so I am sure I will eventually find one that suits me better. I did a little shopping and then stopped for lunch. It was a restaurant across from Señor Frog’s, and a bit more shaded. It was also quieter, as Senior Frog’s is quite the party atmosphere. The food was good, if rather pricey, so keep an eye on the menu and the cost of what you are ordering. Once back onboard, I got to watch our sail away, and we ended up in foggy conditions. Being at sea in Mexico in the summer, it felt very odd to hear the fog horn going off. But it did serve to cool the air off a bit, so that was nice.
