Hello Travelers, In August of 2023, I did my first full transit of the Panama Canal with Princess cruises. It was a 19 day cruise, the longest I had been on to date. So what happens when your ship is scheduled to sail on the same day a hurricane is forecast to make landfall? Turns out, your ship cuts the prior sailing a day short and heads to port early. I flew in the day before, and it was stormy. But after staying the night in my comfy hotel room, I woke to no hurricane at all! Not that I mind, it meant that our ship sailed exactly as planned, so no complaints here. We left from the San Pedro docks, berth 93. We could see Navigator of the Seas around the corner, and she sailed just before we did. I had realized on my way to the airport (too far to go back) that I left my Medallion at my house. So I knew that despite being in Green Lane on the app, I would need to drop over to Blue Lane and get a new one. I assumed they had medallion printers there, but they gave me an old style cabin card to get me aboard ship. Once on the ship, I was able to go down to Guest Services and they had the medallion printers. I have a lovely aft balcony cabin, with a wonderful view of the back of the ship. Sail away was very nice from there, and I got to see the Navigator sail off as well. Lunch was in the buffet, and dinner was in the Salty Dog.
