Hello Travelers, I am traveling solo on the brand new Enchanted Princess cruise ship for her maiden voyage with paying passengers. This is day 5 of our ten day journey, and we are visiting the port of Dominica. We were informed yesterday evening that the port authority in Dominica was not allowing passengers who were not booked with an excursion through Princess to leave the port area. They could go shopping in the little parking lot where vendors had set up craft fair style booths, but not leave the actual port area to wander around in Dominica. So I was very glad to have booked my excursion with the cruise line. I did the Trolley tour, it was about an hour and a half, and took us to three destinations: a river (where we stopped the trolley, but were not allowed out of our seats); a botanical garden, where we were allowed to wander around and our guide explained the history and uses of the various plants in the park; and a church, where we got to go inside and admire the unusual architecture of that Catholic Church that had replaced a prior built structure that was destroyed by a hurricane.
