Creator's Key Takeaways

I really recommend you check is the station schedules so that you know how often the trains are running on the date that you plan to be there

personally I would not recommend going on BART at night it's really more of a daytime kind of a a thing just for safety's sake

it's better to load the either load the clipper app onto your phone or you know set up Apple pay and and or Google pay

the best part of this being the start of a line is that you're guaranteed a seat

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description↓

Hello Travelers, I wanted to make a video showing how to take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) from the San Francisco airport down to the San Francisco Cruise Terminal. It is an inexpensive and convenient way to use public transit to get from the airport to your ship. We start out in the International Terminal, but any of the terminals will be a similar experience. First, before you even fly, head over to BART.gov and set yourself up for using Clipper and your favorite payment method from your phone. This is much easier than dealing with trying to get a Clipper card, and while SFO kiosks are reportedly still selling paper tickets, that could change without notice. The video walks you through what you should do to determine the schedules of the trains when you want to use BART, and how to determine the fare for using the trains. Once that is completed, I show you how to get to AirTrain, the San Francisco Airport’s free transport system, and it will take you directly to the BART station at the airport. From there, you pay your fare at the pay gates and head down to the trains. You are at the start of the line for this train, so getting a seat is usually not a problem. Pay attention to the route map and where the train is, and be certain to get off the train at Embarcadero station. If you don’tβ€”you’ll find yourself heading through the tube under the San Francisco Bay. Not to worry if that happensβ€”just get off at the first station and cross the platform to board a train in the opposite direction. This time, stay awake and get off at the right stop. From the BART station, exit the Embarcadero station at Market and Spear Street. This will bring you out on Market Street. Head towards the Ferry Building (it should be in sight, if it isn’t, turn around). Once you reach the Ferry Building, you will have the Bay Bridge on your right side, and the ship will eventually be on your left. Head away from the bridge until you reach Pier 27. You ship should be there, but if it isn’t, there is another terminal a little further down. I think it is Pier 32. Just keep walking until you see your ship. I hope this helps you decide if using BART to get from the airport to the ship is a good option for you.
