Liberty of the Seas Day 4 - Georgetown, Grand Cayman | Not So Solo Travel

Hello Travelers, I boarded Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas in August of 2022. This is day 4 of the cruise, and we are in Georgetown, Grand Cayman. I booked the shore excursion Turtle Encounter & Island Tour. They took us to the Cayman Turtle Center. We saw their large turtles in the breeder pond—it also contained multiple generations of turtles, apparently once the turtles retire from breeding, they remain in the pond and just hang out with the other turtles. We also saw the adolescent and even the little baby turtles. There was a nice swimming pool with a couple of waterfalls and a water slide. As it was pretty warm outside, I changed in the bathroom and had a nice swim to cool off. Then I headed over to the Turtle Lagoon to go and swim with the turtles. There I a little beach hut where they give you the snorkel gear and a vest. Then it is into the water to swim with the adolescent turtles. They are wild turtles, so it is good to give them their space, but it was great to be able to watch them going about their turtle day. There is a restaurant and I had coconut shrimp and a daiquiri for my lunch (not included). There is also a gift shop, but I was running out of time and didn’t want to miss my bus. They then had us stop in Hell—the town. There is a rock formation there that they call Hell rocks—it was formed by a dead coral reef when the sea level dropped.
