P&O Iona Day 6 - Haugesund, Norway | Norwegian Fjords | Solo Travel Vlog

Hello Travelers, I boarded P&O’s Iona on July 29, 2023. I have never been on this cruise line before, so I was interested to see the differences in the way a new line handles things. We are doing a seven day tour of the Norwegian Fjords, a bucket list cruise for me. I’m excited to bring you along on this trip! We really lucked out on the weather on this trip. It seems most every day in port was just gorgeous. Today we were in Haugesund, and I took the Åakrafjord and Langfoss Waterfall tour, booked through the ship. This was a very nice tour, and while there was a bit of bus time, the countryside in Norway is so beautiful, you never lack for things to look at. They took us through town, and although I didn’t have time to shop in port, it looked like there were a bunch of shops and restaurants that looked like fun. So you could likely just hop off the ship and walk or take a taxi or something if you didn’t book any excursions. The waterfall is very big, and we started with a visit to it at the roadside where it comes down from the mountain, and goes under an overpass to the fjord. Then we got back in the bus and had our lunch, which was quite tasty. It was served buffet style and featured a number of traditional Norwegian dishes. Then it was onto a boat to see the waterfall from water level in the fjord. All in all, this was a great day, and we all had a good time.
