YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, In July of 2023, I did my first Alaska cruise tour with Princess cruises. If you haven’t done one of these before, it is a bit different than just going on a cruise. I chose to do the land portion of the tour first, as I had found in my research that people recommended that you get that part over with first before boarding the ship. I second that advice, having done this trip now—it is better to do the land portion first, because you have the logistics with going to a new hotel each evening and handling the bags. Once you finish the land tour, you will really appreciate being able to unpack once on the ship and then just enjoy yourself. I was in room 1733. The property is quite large. There are multiple buildings and they give you a map to be able to navigate. There is the main lodge building where you are initially dropped off by the bus driver. It has a gift shop, a couple of restaurants and a coffee shop. There are also restrooms and areas where you can just sit and relax and look out the large floor to ceiling windows at the back of the building. It is quite rustic looking with a log cabin kind of feel. It was quite a nice facility. My room was also in the same theme, with decorative touches like the moose and bear on the lamps, as well as the artwork. There was a theater building as well on property, but I never quite made it to any shows there. I was only here overnight, and it took several hours to get there from Anchorage, so it took up a good chunk of the day. I had the meal plan for my cruise tour, which gave me dinner at the lodge main sit down restaurant, as well as breakfast. The experience will be in another video.
