YouTube Video Description

Hello Travelers, I boarded the Royal Princess on September 24, 2022. This is a repositioning cruise that runs from Vancouver, BC to San Francisco, California with no stops in between. Today is that sad day when they kick us off the ship. But first, early in the morning we passed under the Golden Gate Bridge, which was beautiful. I had breakfast in the main dining room, having already taken all my belongings and vacated the stateroom. We met in the theater for the shore excursion. When I tapped my medallion to leave the ship, the lady directed me over to the side to get the power strip that had been confiscated. After that, I picked up my luggage and joined the queue for the tour bus. The tour first took us to the Golden Gate Bridge visitors center, and gave us some time to wander around there. One of the ladies on our tour fell in the parking lots hard and hit her head. There were medical people who helped her very quickly, but I don’t think she came back on the bus with us. We had a bit over an hour at the site, which was about right, there was a gift shop of course, and a restaurant if you were starving and fast about getting through a meal. I enjoyed looking at the bridge and the view of Alcatraz. After we rejoined the bus, they took us across the bridge to the lookout point on the other side, but we just stayed there for about 15 minutes. Then it was on to Sausalito. If you’ve never been, this is a cute little town with some fun shops. I think we had a bit longer at this site, and I had a chance to walk along the shore and take pictures. The next stop was back across the bridge and over the the SF Ferry Building. We had another hour or so here, to get some food and shop as well. Then we all boarded again and headed to the airport. Since I am local to the Bay Area, I had parked my car at the airport to fly to Vancouver at the start of this trip.
