Ruby Princess Day 4: Ensenada Thanksgiving Day | West Coast Mexico | Solo Travel

Hello Travelers, I am traveling solo on the lovely Ruby Princess cruise ship out of San Francisco and under the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. Today was Ensenada, and the Princess booked tour called “Ensenada Eats”. We met our guide right off the ship, and she walked us to the bus. It turns out it wasn’t a walking tour, but more of a “get on the bus for a short ride and get off” tour. We had four restaurant stops and a wine tasting stop. All the food was excellent, and additional food and drinks could also be purchased. Coming back to port, I had kind of a strange experience. The woman in security scanned my purse and then she pulls it aside and asked me if she could search the bag. I consented. She removes the GoPro and then looked back at the monitor. Then she dives back in and pulls out my travel sized bottle of Excedrin and asks if she can look inside that. I again consented, mostly I was just puzzled. She looks inside and confirms the pills inside really match the pills on the cover of the Excedrin bottle. Then she pops it back inside and gives me the go ahead to leave. When I got on board, I saw some friends in the Good Spirits bar and stopped to chat. I recounted what had happened, and she mentioned it might have been profiling because of the tattoos. I don’t usually think of that, but I was wearing a tank top, so she could be right. This is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., so the ship had the full turkey dinner available on the menu in the main dining room. The dinner was excellent, especially since I didn’t have to cook or clean up afterwards. After dinner, I went to the Explorer’s Lounge to see Grace’s Secret doing ABBA songs. Our Cruise Director, DuVal Gamble joined the band for Dancing Queen and played the cow bell. He really got into his role, and was having such fun, I had to include some of the footage. Enjoy!
