Ruby Princess Day 4: Los Angeles | B2B and S2S | West Coast Mexico | Solo Travel

Hello Travelers, I’m embarking on quite the adventure. I am on a back to back (B2B) cruise on Ruby Princess for two weeks, and then when I step off this ship, I dash to the airport and fly to Los Angeles to get onto the side to side (S2S) portion of the trip. I am embarking on Carnival Panorama for my sister’s birthday cruise. This video covers day 4 of the cruise, where we visit Los Angeles. I had originally purchased a shore excursion through Princess to see the La Brea Tar Pits, and as I had not been there before, I was really looking forward to it. However, it was not to be. In an unusual twist, they left me with a letter saying the Tar Pits shorex was cancelled and that I had instead been booked on an excursion to the Getty Museum. I had the option of changing it by going down to the Shore Excursion desk, but since I had never been to the Getty either, I decided to keep it as is. We all climbed on the bus and got a little tour of the boardwalk and the Santa Monica pier as we drove by. It looked like a much more elaborate pier than the one I had been to the day before. But there was no time to stop there this trip. We were taken to the Getty, and made to go through their security screening. There, they took the small bendy tripod I use as a handle for the GoPro. Apparently they have a rule against tripods at that museum. I was given a ticket to pick it up on the way out of the museum, and I got to hold the GoPro in my hand instead of my more traditional mounting. I gravitated to the paintings first, and they had some very nice ones. I have put my favorites in this video, along with my favorite sculpture. There was also a separate exhibit called Poussin and the Dance, and I have featured a little bit of that here as well. At the end, we were bussed back through town, and given some time to get some lunch. I chose the King’s Head pub, as I do like pub food. The fish and chips were excellent.
