Hello Travelers, I took a cruise with Hurtigruten’s Roald Amundsen down the east coast. Today we stopped in Boothbay, Maine. Another really cute fishing village. The included shore excursion this time was a visit to the local botanical garden. It was really beautiful, and this garden had trolls! The artist apparently would assemble the head, hands and feet, and then ship those plus the rest of the supplies to the gardens with instructions on assembling them. That would have been a great project to film for the garden. I would love to see the process. We had a sunny day until the fog rolled back in after getting back to the ship. I had dinner on board, and then attended the program outlining how tomorrow was supposed to go. I found it surprising that we don’t have to have our luggage out for pickup until 2pm tomorrow, when we arrive in Boston at 5pm. What a change not to have to worry about the nightly routine clothes and toiletries to lug off the ship having put the luggage out the night before. This is one of the benefits of being on a smaller ship, and not all of the passengers getting off at this port—many are continuing on as part of the pole to pole voyage they are on.
